What is Self-Realization?

Image
"Self-realization is understanding the truth of who we are, what we are. We are not the body, mind or the ego, so what are we See what AiR as to say about this".    We have all heard about self-realization . We have read spiritual quotes related to it, listened to discourses by spiritual teachers or heard of such spiritual experiences . Some of us may be intimidated by the term or overwhelmed by spiritual leaders who have attained it. But what is self-realization ? Does it place one in a different realm of existence? What is the need for self-realization ? Why must it be the goal of humanity?   Self-realization is the truth of who we are, what we are – the realization that we are not the physical body, the physical form that we believe ourselves to be, but the energy within that physical form that gives us life. Most of us are unable to realize this because of the illusionary world we live in, because of our mind which makes us believe that we are the ego...

Happiness In India

Image
How can one seek ultimate happiness?  Transcending the mind, body and ego to realize that we are the Soul is the Ultimate peak of Happiness. AiR shares his thoughts and experiences on Liberation or Mukti. Everybody wants to be happy, but not everybody knows how! Is there anybody in this world who doesn’t want to be happy? The whole world is seeking happiness, joy, and bliss, be it a little child who wants to be happy with his toys or a young adult who is enamoured by the pleasures of this world. Whether it is a person who has grown old or the one who is young, everybody wants to be happy. It doesn’t matter which country we come from, which religion or race we belong to, and it doesn’t matter which gender we are, we all want to be happy. While everybody wants to be happy, there are different happiness triggers that bring in happiness in people’s life. Something that makes one very happy may not make the other happy. In fact, the whole world seems to be li...

God Realization in India

Image
First Experience God Then, Realize God!  Know the Divine energy that exists beyond the Cosmos, the power that we call God. Start out on a quest to learn about who we are and how we are connected to God.   On the journey to find God, many of us experience a wondrous feeling of God’s divine presence. We experience God in the sun, the moon, the stars, the birds, the animals and the flowers. We know that God exists, and we go beyond our religion to feel God’s divinity in the wind that blows, the water that flows and the sun that glows. Although we cannot prove it, we experience God’s divine presence in His creation. Everything that God has made is so very beautiful – the flowers in the garden, the fruits and trees, the butterflies and birds, the underwater world, the clouds and the stars in the skies. Creation is so amazing that it can’t be the work of anyone else other than the Creator, God. We often differentiate between the animate and the inanimate, those ...

What Is Happiness?

Image
Finding the Pinnacle of Happiness The whole world seeks happiness and everyone is relentless in the pursuit of it. We all tend to have expectations that fuel our desires, only to create a moment that just craves for more happiness. What we don’t see is that happiness has several peaks. About 80% of humanity spends their entire life on the first peak of happiness, the peak of Achievement. The distinct characteristic of the first peak is that we chase fame, success, name which gives us only temporary pleasure. Most of us are consumed by greed and continue to long for more and our desires and expectations remain unfulfilled. Every time we are unable to match the expectations our desires create, we become unhappy and disappointed. We tend to accept this as the circle of life and we continue living – wanting, seeking, achieving, being happy and then again, becoming unhappy. The craving of achievers, along with achievements and success, without doubt, creates excitement, b...

Spirituality in Life: Why is Spirituality Important?  Why is Spirituality important? What is Spirituality? Spirituality is everything to do with the Spirit, the Soul, the Atman or what in reality is the life energy within us. Why is that important? Because that is everything! If there is no life energy within us, then we are dead, then there is nothing. The only thing that truly exists is this life energy which is us, but which we don’t realize. We think that we are the body, we are the mind, when in reality we are the Spirit. Therefore, Spirituality is the study of the Spirit. It is being conscious of who we truly are. If we do not follow a life that is Spiritual or rather being that life energy, that Soul or the Atman, then we are living a life of illusion.   What is a Spiritual life ? A Spiritual life is all about realizing the Spirit, whether it is through meditation or by following a religion . Spirituality is awakening the truth about the Spirit. On...

Moksha In India

Image
"While the goal of every being is to be liberated as a Soul, the path to attaining it starts with self-realization and enlightenment. AiR explains more on the subject". What is Moksha? Moksha is the goal of life. Every human being’s aim is to be liberated. What is Liberation? Liberation is escaped from the cycle of birth and death. It is escaping from misery, suffering and pain. It is self-realization. It is freedom or mukti . Why are we born? What are all these concepts trying to convey to us? It is very difficult for the common man to think about Moksha, Liberation and Self-Realization because we are not mindful of the truth. We are so preoccupied and busy with worldly matters that we think we are born to live and to die in pursuit of success, happiness and achievement. We mistake them to be the goals of life. In fact, anything remotely spiritual switches off our mind. Spiritual Enlightenment is not on our agenda. But what is this Spiritual Enlightenmen...

Karma In India

Image
NO KARMAS, NO REBIRTH, NO SUFFERING!  Karma is for the mind and the body. When you realize the truth that you are a part of the Divine soul, you are set free from the cycle of rebirths triggered by Karma.   Our ignorance is the cause of our suffering – ignorance that makes us believe that we are the body, the mind, and the ego. This ignorance makes us the doer. Our actions create karmas, and we are reborn to face the consequences of our actions. If there was no ignorance, there would be no suffering. Our realization removes our ignorance and reveals our true nature. We are not the doer, nor the thinker. We are a power – the power is enveloped with the ignorance of the body and mind and this body–mind–soul complex lives, dies and suffers as it enjoys its human existence on Earth. There are some things that we can analyse and understand, but there are some things that are beyond human comprehension. Realization is a gift of a very few. It needs deep contemplation o...

Spirituality in India

Image
The Kindergarten to Spirituality     We know that religion is an organized system of beliefs and practices to worship the Creator or the cosmic power, commonly referred to as God. There are many religions in the world. Amongst the known religions, including Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Sikhism, Jainism, Bahai Faith, Zoroastrianism, Shintoism, and Taoism, the largest ones are Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism. Each religion has its own God and its own scripture. What do religions preach? They teach us how we must pray and they lay down the dos and don’ts of our moral life. Most religions have divine rituals that are devoutly followed by their followers. Every religion forms its own cultural lifestyle and has its own places of pilgrimage. While all religions differ in most aspects, the one thing that they all agree on is the existence of a Creator, God. It is strange but every religion claims that their God is supreme. There is so much devotion...

Realization

Image
Ask, Investigate, and Realize  We must ask, investigate will realize the truth. There several methods of self realization including contemplation & scientific reasoning. Realization is not a secret that is written in books. Realization is a gift from the Divine. All this magic that happens on planet earth, is created and preserved by a power that is beyond human comprehension. Because humanity doesn’t know the Truth about this power, we term this power as the Creator or God. Then we confuse the creative power and give our God names, shapes and forms as we once again sink into the myth of ignorance. Unless we overcome the myth, we will never realize the Truth. Unless we realize ‘who we are not’, we will never realize ‘who we truly are’ and unless we realize the Truth, we will continue to suffer due to our ignorance. There are several established methods that can help people contemplate and introspect if they are truly passionate about realizing the Truth.  The ...

Life By Air

There is No Warranty for Life. "One may take insurance for their life, but the fact is that life has no warranty. Nobody can guarantee life. You may get a one-year warranty for your washing machine or a three-year warranty for your car, but life has no warranty. It can’t  be replaced by anybody on earth. Birth and death are not" … One may take insurance for their life, but the fact is that life has no warranty. Nobody can guarantee life. You may get a one-year warranty for your washing machine or a three-year warranty for your car, but life has no warranty. It can’t  be replaced by anybody on earth. Birth and death are not in our hands. When, how, and to whom we are born is not in our control, just as death is in the hands of the Divine. The warranty for life is only for the present moment. Therefore, we must learn to live life in the ‘now’, moment by moment. Most of us live taking life for granted, believing that we too will live at least 70 years which is the...

Does Karma actually exist?  AiR explains the Universal law of Karma, its consequences through rebirth, and how we can be liberated from the Karmic cycle of reincarnation by realizing the truth   While there is no proof that the Law of Karma exists, there is no doubt whatsoever that such a law is in place in the universe. The simple fact that all actions are organised in a reciprocated manner infers that such a law is in place. The law of the boomerang, cause and effect, action and reactions consistently recur on earth. If there was no law, it would be apparent in everything that happened around us. There would be apples growing on coconut trees. This Universal Law ensures order and organizes every effect based on its cause. It would be ridiculous to think that everything that is happening in our life is just happening by chance as a random phenomenon. Everything that happens is a reaction to a chain of actions. The world would be a chaotic jungle without the Law o...

God : AiR

Image
Who is God? Where is God? What is God?  We are raised with an image of God but how sure are we about the nature and existence of God? AiR shares his understandings of the Universal Power beyond our perception.     We all believe in a God. God is our Lord, our Saviour and our Father in heaven. All religions accept the existence of God. We go to temples, mosques and churches. As children, we are made to believe in a God that has a name and a form. We follow scriptures as the word of God, but have we ever tried to go in quest of the truth, to realize who God is? We pray to a Power that has a name and a form but where is this God? Who is this God? What is this God? God is beyond gender. God is nameless, formless, eternal, and invisible. There is a source, a Power that is responsible for the creation of this amazing universe. The wind that blows, the water that flows and the sun that glows signify the existence of a life force – a Power we call God . But b...
